LIMIT DESIGN OF PRESTRESSED CONCRETE BRIDGES

A LIMIT DESIGN THEORY FOR THE DESIGN OF PRISMATIC AND NON- PRISMATIC CONTINUOUS PRESTRESSED CONCRETE GIRDER BRIDGES SUBJECTED TO MOVING LOADS IS PROPOSED. AN EXAMPLE HAS BEEN WORKED OUT TO ILLUSTRATE THE APPLICATION OF THE THEORY. A COMPARISON OF THE DESIGNS SHOWS CONSIDERABLE SAVINGS BY THE APPLICATION OF THE PROPOSED LIMIT DESIGN METHOD. /AUTHOR/
