HEAT TREATMENT OF CONCRETE IN AN ELECTROMAGNETIC FIELD /IN RUSSIAN/

A TECHNIQUE IS DESCRIBED BRIEFLY FOR ACCELERATED SETTING OF CONCRETE USING COMMERCIAL FREQUENCY CURRENT. THE HEATING OF THE CONCRETE IS PRODUCED BY INDUCTION OF THE FERROMAGNETIC ELEMENTS CONTAINED IN THE REINFORCED AND ORDINARY CONCRETE, AND ALSO AS A RESULT OF THE FACT THAT CONCRETE CONSTITUTES A RELAXATION-POLARIZED SYSTEM WITH RESPECT TO THE ELECTROMAGNETIC FIELD. HEAT TRANSFER IN THE CONCRETE OCCURS NOT ONLY UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF TEMPERATURE AND CONCENTRATION GRADIENTS, BUT ALSO UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF MAGNETIC AND ELECTRIC FIELD GRADIENTS AND BECAUSE OF DIFFERENCES IN THE MAGNETIC AND ELECTRIC FIELD INTENSITY VECTORS AT THE GIVEN INSTANT OF TIME AND IN THE EQUILIBRIUM STATE. THE METHOD PERMITS A SMOOTH CONTROL OF THE HEATING OF THE CONCRETE BY CONTINUOUSLY REGULATING THE MAGNETIC FIELD INTENSITY. /WPAFB/
