RESPONSES TO SIX QUESTIONS DEALING WITH TIME SAVING PROCEDURES FOR HIGHWAY LOCATION ARE PRESENTED IN A TABLE AND SUMMARIZED BY STATE. AERIAL PHOTOGRAPHY AND THE USE OF CONTOUR MAPS OR THE RHODES ARC IN TAKING CROSS-SECTIONS WERE WIDELY REPORTED. A FEW SHORT-CUTS WERE REPORTED FOR REFERENCING POINTS, RUNNING AND CHECKING LEVELS, EVALUATING ALTERNATE LOCATIONS, AND DRAWING UP PLOTS.
