STUDIES AND PROJECTS OF HIGHWAYS (BR-101)

THE EXISTENCE OF A FINAL ENGINEERING PROJECT REPORT IS INDISPENSABLE TO FAIR COMPETITION, EXECUTION AND OPERATION OF ENGINEERING WORK. THE "EXECUTIVE PLAN" OF A HIGHWAY WORK OF THE GUANABARA HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT IS DESCRIBED. THE "EXECUTIVE PLAN" IS AN INTEGRAL PART OF A ENGINEERING FINAL PROJECT REPORT. DEVELOPMENT OF ADMINISTRATIVE PROCEDURES, WERE ESTABLISHED (1963) FOR THE SUBMISSION OF WORKS PROJECTS. THE "SERVICES' MANUALS" AND THE "COST COMPARISONS" OF THE HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT, AND THE "INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE PRESENTATION OF PHYSICAL-FINANCING CHRONOGRAMS" OF EVERYDAY USE WERE APPROVED BY THE EXECUTIVE AND HIGHWAY COUNCILS. "COST TABLES FOR WORKS AND SERVICES" ARE UPDATED ON A MONTHLY BASIS BY USE OF COMPUTER. ADVANTAGES OF "GLOBAL PROJECTS," WHERE THE ASPECTS RELATED TO GEOMETRICAL DESIGN, TECHNOLOGICAL STUDIES, EARTHMOVING PROJECTS, DRAINAGE AND PAVEMENTS, STRUCTURAL DESIGN, EXECUTIVE PLANNING AND ENGINEERING COSTS STUDIES ARE ALSO ANALYSED SIMULTANEOUSLY AND IN DETAIL. A PRACTICE BEGUN IN 1957 AT THE NATIONAL ENGINEERING SCHOOL FOR THE INTENSIVE USE OF "CARTESIAN CHRONOGRAMS IN EXECUTIVE PLANNING OF HIGHWAY WORKS" IS ALSO DISCUSSED. /RRI/
