PAVING TO BE DONE IN THE SUBURBAN AND RURAL NETWORK OF GUANABARA STATE

GUANABARA STATE HAS IN ITS ROADS SYSTEM, AND ONLY IN SUBURBS AND RURAL AREAS WHICH INCLUDE THE ADMINISTRATIVE REGIONS OF RAMOS, PENHA, MEIER, ENGENHO NOVO, IRAJA, MADU REIRA, JACAREPAGUA, BANGU, CAMPO GRANDE, ST.CRUZ, GOVERNOR'S ISLAND AND ANCHIETA, NEARLY 2,700 SITES WITHOUT PAVEMENTS. THE MAJORITY OF THESE ARE RESIDENCIAL AND INDUSTRIAL AND REACH APPROXIMATELY 1,000 STREET KM. THIS PART OF THE CITY IN ITS TRUE DEVELOPMENT, OF EXTRAORDINARY SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC IMPORTANCE TO THE COMMUNITY LIFE HOUSES ALMOST 3,000,000 INHABITANTS, WHOSE DEMANDS CANNOT BUT BE ATTENDED. SURSAN HAS TO ELABORATE, THROUGH THE SPECIAL PAVING PLAN, A WORKS SYSTEM CAPABLE OF BEING EXECUTED IN A PERIOD OF TWO YEARS, GIVING THESE PLACES THE GREATEST IMPROVEMENT OF A MODERN CITY- PAVEMENTS. THE FINANCIAL INSTRUMENT CREATED BY THE LAW NO1 530 OF 26/11/67 ALLOWED THE WORKS PROGRAM, CONDUCTED BY THE COORDINATION OF THE SPECIAL PAVING PLAN (CPEP) WHICH IS ALREADY IN ACTIVITY WITH TWO CONSTRUCTION COMPANIES IN THEIR WORKYARDS, TO BEGIN A FOURTH WORKS CONTRACT. THE FIRST STEP FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF THIS CYCLOPIC WORK WAS TAKEN BY CPEP DIMENSIONING WORKS SO AS TO ALLOW THEM TO BE FINISHED IN THE PREDETERMINED PERIOD. EACH WORKYARD WAS THEN ALLOTED THE MEDIUM EXTENSION OF 60 KM OF STREETS TO ALLOW FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF CONTRACTORS OF IMPORTANCE, WHICH SHOULD HAVE CONDITIONS TO EXECUTE THE WORKS DEMANDED OF THEM. ALMOST NCR$20.000.000.000,00 IS EXPECTED TO BE APPLIED IN THIS PERIOD. THIS SHOWS THE DIMENSIONS OF THE WORK WHICH SURSAN HAS UNDERTAKEN. THE STUDIED PAVING, WHOSE INITIAL PLANNING PROVOKED SEVERAL DISCUSSIONS BETWEEN THE STATE TECHNICIANS, SHOWS ALREADY, IN A FEW KILOMETERS, RESULTS WHICH BRING CPEP TO BELIEVE IN THE SUCCESS OF THEIR EXCELLENT QUALITIES. /RRI/
