THE GCARS SYSTEM FORTRAN IV USERS MANUAL

THE OVERALL ARRANGEMENT IS DESCRIBED OF THE 28 FORTRAN IV COMPUTER ROUTINES WHICH MAKE UP THE GENERALIZED COMPUTER- AIDED ROUTE SELECTION (GCARS) SYSTEM WHICH IS A COMPUTER -AIDED HIGHWAY LOCATIONS SYSTEM. THE GCARS STANDARDS ARE OUTLINED FOR PROGRAM LANGUAGE AND DOCUMENTATION, THE FORMATS OF IDENTIFICATION CARDS, DATA STORAGE ARRAYS, AND DATA STORAGE TAPES. A CONTROL DATA CORPORATION 6500 SYSTEM CONTAINS 12 SEPARATE COMPUTERS. TEN OF THESE ARE PERIPHERAL PROCESSORS, TWO ARE CENTRAL PROCESSORS. THESE INDEPENDENT COMPUTERS UTILIZE A COMMON CENTRAL MEMORY.
