INFLUENCE OF THE QUALITY OF LIGHTWEIGHT AGGREGATE ON THE COMPRESSIVE STRENGTH AND BULK DENSITY OF LIGHTWEIGHT CONCRETE /IN GERMAN/

A STUDY IS DESCRIBED OF THE APPLICATION OF THE LIGHTWEIGHT EXPANDED CLAY AGGREGATES (LECA) METHOD TO THE MANUFACTURE OF EXPANDED CLAY OBTAINED FROM THE CLAY DEPOSIT IN FEHRING. DETAILS ARE GIVEN OF THE PROCEDURES USED FOR COLLECTING PHYSICAL CHEMICAL, AND MINERALOGICAL DATA. THE VARIOUS LECA TYPES WERE EXAMINED ACCORDING TO QUALITY AND GRAIN, AS POTENTIAL LIGHTWEIGHT CONCRETE AGGREGATES, TO BE USED IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE TYPE OF PORTLAND CEMENT AND SAND UTILIZED IN AUSTRIA.
