INFLUENCE OF THE COMPRESSION APPLIED TO A REINFORCED CONCRETE BEAM OF VARIABLE HEIGHT ON ITS SHEARING STRENGTH /IN RUSSIAN/

THE OFFICIAL METHOD OF CALCULATING REINFORCED CONCRETE BEAMS OF VARIABLE HEIGHT AS WELL AS TESTS CARRIED OUT ON T BEAMS ARE DESCRIBED. EXPERIMENTAL AND CALCULATED SHEARING STRENGTH VALUES ARE COMPARED. THERE EXIST APPRECIABLE DEVIATIONS BETWEEN THE TWO RESULTS. A NEW CALCULATION METHOD IS PRESENTED WHICH PARTIALLLY UTILIZES RESERVE STRENGTH. THIS NEW METHOD IS VERY SIMILAR TO THE OFFICIAL METHOD IN THE CASE OF BEAMS OF CONSTANT HEIGHT. /TRRL/
