EFFECT AND DETERMINATION OF CHARACTERISTIC MOISTURE OF CONCRETE AGGREGATES

TOTAL WATER CONTENT AND CORE AND SURFACE MOISTURE ARE ANALYZED ON DIFFERENT SIZE FRACTIONS OF SILICEOUS SANDS BY DRYING AT 105 DEGREES AND TESTS ARE CARRIED OUT WITH AN AIR PYCNOMETER AND BY MEANS OF ELECTRICAL RESISTANCE MEASUREMENTS. THE INHERENT MOISTURE OF THE AGGREGATE DURING MIXING OF THE CONCRETE BY ELECTRICAL RESISTANCE MEASUREMENTS OF THE FRESH CONCRETE OR BY MEASURING THE CONSISTENCY IS TAKEN INTO ACCOUNT UNDER THE CONDITION THAT THE GRADING OF THE AGGREGATE AND THE MIX PROPORTIONS ARE CONSTANT. /AUTHOR/
