INFLUENCE OF POLY-VINYLACETATE EMULSION ADMIXTURE ON HYDRATION AND PROPERTIES OF HARDENED CEMENT /IN SLOVAK/

THE MECHANICAL AND ENGINEERING PROPERTIES OF MORTAR AND CONCRETE ARE FAVORABLY INFLUENCED BY ADMIXTURES OF POLYMERS. THIS APPLIES ESPECIALLY TO THE MODULUS OF ELASTICITY, TENSILE STRENGTH, ADHESION, SHOCK RESISTANCE, AND ABRASIVITY. THE TESTS CARRIED OUT BY THE AUTHOR WITH POLYVINYLACETATE EMULSION ADMIXTURE TO CEMENT MORTARS AND PASTES SHOWED THAT THE WORKABILITY OF THE MIX HAS IMPROVED, THE SETTING TIME PROLONGED, THE TENSILE STRENGTH INCREASED. ON THE OTHER HAND THE SHRINKAGE OF HARDENED PASTE IS HIGHER. HUMIDITY AFFECTS NEGATIVELY THE MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF HARDENED CEMENT PASTE WHICH IS MORE SENSITIVE TO THE EFFECTS OF DRYING AND WETTING. THE HYDRATION IS ALSO SLOWED DOWN BY THE ADMIXTURE. /CR/
