ULTIMATE STRENGTH OF PRESTRESSED I-BEAMS UNDER COMBINED TORSION, BENDING, AND SHEAR

SUMMARIZES A REPORT ON TESTS OF 16 SIMPLE SUPPORTED PRESTRESSED I-BEAMS SUBJECTED TO COMBINED TORSION, BENDING, AND SHEAR. ONE-HALF OF EACH BEAM CONTAINED WEB REINFORCEMENT. ALL BEAMS HAD THE SAME NOMINAL CROSS SECTION AND PRESTRESSING FORCE. THE LENGTH OF THE BEAMS, THE LOAD AND ITS POSITION, THE TORQUE LOAD, THE LOADING SEQUENCE, AND THE WEB REINFORCEMENT WERE VARIED. THE CALCULATED DEFORMATIONS AND CRACKING LOADS WERE IN GOOD AGREEMENT WITH MEASURED RESULTS. /AUTHOR/
