DESIGN OF COMBINED FOOTINGS USING SUPPORT REACTION AND MOMENT INFLUENCE LINES OF CONTINUOUS BEAMS ON ELASTIC SUPPORTS

A METHOD IS PRESENTED FOR DESIGNING COMBINED FOOTINGS BASED ON A MATHEMATICAL MODEL /SUBSTITUTE STRUCTURE/, THE SOLUTION OF WHICH IS FACILITATED BY INFLUENCE COEFFICIENTS. THE ACCURACY OF THE METHOD IN THE USE OF THE SUBSTITUTE STRUCTURE DEPENDS ON THE RELATIVE RIGIDITY OF THE SYSTEM. HOWEVER, THE INCLUSION OF A MARGIN OF ERROR DIAGRAM AND TABLES MAKES THE PROPOSED DESIGN METHOD USEFUL TO PRACTICING ENGINEERS. /AUTHOR/
