THE FATIGUE OF BITUMINOUS MATERIALS /IN FRENCH/

THIS REPORT PRESENTS RESULTS OBTAINED IN VARIOUS EUROPEAN AND NORTH-AMERICAN LABORATORIES, AND DEFINES THE BASIC CAUSE OF FATIGUE IN BITUMINOUS MATERIALS. AN EQUATION, VALID FOR ALL TYPES OF TEST (BENDING, TORSION OR PLATE BEARING TEST) IS GIVEN FOR CALCULATING FATIGUE IN BITUMINOUS MATERIALS WITH BITUMINOUS BINDERS. THE EQUATION IS APPLICABLE TO A WIDE RANGE OF MATERIALS USED FOR SURFACINGS AND FOUNDATIONS. PARAMETERS IN THE EQUATION CAN BE AFFECTED BY THE FOLLOWING VARIABLES: BINDER AND PORE CONTENT, TEMPERATURE, AND TO A LESSER DEGREE, TEXTURE AND GRADING OF CARRIAGEWAYS CAN BE DEVELOPED FROM THE ABOVE THEORY ON FATIGUE. /RRL/
