LOADING CRITERIA AND DYNAMIC RESPONSES OF A GUIDEWAY FOR AIR CUSHION VEHICLES
The purpose of the report is threefold: first, to review all available contract reports to determine loading criteria for proposed tracked air cushion vehicle guideways; second, to present methods for calculating dynamic responses of double-span beam-type guiderails and soil supported slabs subjected to high speed vehicle loading; and third, to obtain the dynamic load factors for the guiderail and slab components designed for the High Speed Ground Test Center. Assuming that the post-supported guiderails are dynamically uncoupled from the slabs, dynamic load factors of up to 2.8 are calculated here for the rails, and these are in substantial agreement with previously reported results.
