RESULTS OF DYNAMIC MEASUREMENTS ON EXISTING PAVEMENTS (INGERMAN)

THE OPERATIVE OF THE MEASUREMENTS WAS TO ESTABLISH CONDITIONS FOR DETERMINING THE DYNAMIC VALUES OF ROAD COURSES. THE FIRST INVESTIGATIONS CONSISTED OF DYNAMIC LOADING TESTS, CARRIED OUT BY MEANS OF A MOVING LORRY, TO DETERMINE THE IMPACTS ABSORBED BY THE ROAD STRUCTURE. IT WAS ESTABLISHED THAT THE LOADING FREQUENCY OF A VEHICLE TRAVELLING AT 60 KM PER HOUR AMOUNTED TO APPROXIMATELY 5 HZ. MEASUREMENTS WERE ALSO CARRIED OUT WITH INDUCED VIBRATIONS. RESULTS SHOW THE FEASIBILITY OF ANALYZING A LAYERED STRUCTURE BY MEANS OF THE MEASURED WAVE PROPAGATION SPEED. SUPPLEMENTARY SEISMIC TESTS CARRIED OUT SHOWED THAT THESE DID NOT PERMIT ANALYSIS OF THE RELATIVELY THIN INDIVIDUAL LAYERS OWING TO THE LARGE WAVE-LENGHTS. /FG/RRL/
