DYNAMIC LONGITUDINAL PROFILE ANALYZER (IN FRENCH)

DETAILS ARE GIVEN OF A NEW DEVICE FOR MEASURING THE EVENNESS OF PAVEMENTS. IT CONSISTS OF A TRAILER COUPLED TO A FAST LIGHTWEIGHT VEHICLE. THE VERTICAL MOVEMENTS OF THE "FEELER" WHEEL OVER THE SECTION OF PROFILE SELECTED FOR STUDY ARE RECORDED. THE SIGNALS ARE STORED ON A MAGNETIC TAPE WHICH IS ANALYZED IN THE LABORATORY BY MEANS OF SPECTROSCOPY. THE DATA ARE FED INTO A SMALL ANALOG COMPUTER WHICH GIVES A DIRECT SPECTRUM OF THE ROAD ON PAPER. FURTHER IN-SITU INVESTIGATIONS WILL BE CARRIED OUT TO DETERMINE CRITERIA FOR THE EVALUATION OF PAVEMENT EVENNESS. /LCPC/A/RRL/
