FINITE ELEMENT ANALYSIS OF SKEW, CURVED BOX-GIRDER BRIDGE

BOX-GIRDER BRIDGES HAVING ONE OR TWO SPANS AND WITH CURVED LAYOUT AND SKEW SUPPORTS ARE ANALYZED BY THE FINITE ELEMENT METHOD. THE RESULTS OF ANALYSIS ARE VERIFIED BY TESTS ON AN ALUMINUM BRIDGE MODEL. THE TYPES OF ELEMENTS USED TO IDEALIZE THE BRIDGE ARE DESCRIBED AND THE EFFECT OF THEIR CHOICE ON THE ACCURACY OF THE ANALYSIS IS DISCUSSED. /AUTHOR/
