BRIEF DETAILS ARE GIVEN OF AN EXPERIMENTAL PROGRAM BEING PROBLEMS OF DETAILING REINFORCEMENT. 1/2 SCALE 4-PILE CAPS WESRE TESTED TO DESTRUCTION, THE MAJOR VARIABLES CONSIDERED BEING: THE STEEL LAYOUT, EITHERIN THE FORM OF A UNIFORM GRID OR BANDED OVER THE PILES, AND THE TYPE OF ANCHORAGE (STRAIGHT BARS, NOMINAL BOBS OR FULL ANCHORAGE). THE ULTIMATE LOADS ACHIEVED VARIED FROM 1100 KN TO APPROXIMATELY 1650 KN. RESULTS ARE PRESENTED AND DISCUSSED. /TRRL/
