PLANT CERTIFICATION

THE NATIONAL READY MIXED CONCRETE ASSOCIATION PLANT CERTIFICATION PLAN HAS BEEN IN EFFECT FOR TWO YEARS. MOST PRODUCERS HAVE ELECTED TO CONTINUE CERTIFICATION, INDICATING THAT THE PLAN HAS PROVED WORTHWHILE BY PROVIDING DOCUMENTARY EVIDENCE OF ADEQUATE PRODUCTION FACILITIES. AN INCREASING NUMBER OF SPECIFIERS ARE REQUIRING OR RECOMMENDING THAT CONCRETE FOR THEIR PROJECTS BE FURNISHED FROM PLANTS CONFORMING TO THE NRMCA CHECK LIST REQUIREMENTS. THE PRESENCE OF AN NRMCA CERTIFICATE IN A CONCRETE PLANT GREATLY SIMPLIFIES THE INSPECTION PROBLEMS OF STATE HIGHWAY DEPARTMENTS. AS A CONVENIENCE TO PURCHASERS AND SPECIFIERS OF CONCRETE, A CURRENT LISTING OF CERTIFIED PLANTS HAS BEEN PREPARED. ANY QUALIFIED READY-MIXED CONCRETE PLANT IS ELIGIBLE FOR CERTIFICATION; THE PLANT MUST BE INSPECTED, AND ITS CONFORMANCE WITH THE CHECK LIST VERIFIED BY A REGISTERED PROFESSIONAL ENGINEER ENGAGED BY THE PRODUCER. COMPLETE INFORMATION ON THE CERTIFICATION PROCEDURE IS CONTAINED IN THE BOOKLET, "INSTRUCTIONS AND CHECK LIST FOR CERTIFICATION OF READY MIXED CONCRETE PRODUCTION FACILITIES" AVAILABLE ON REQUEST.
