TO SPEED COMPLEX DESIGN, COMPUTER INTERACTS WITH CRT AND X-Y PLOTTER

COMPUTERVISION CORP. OF BURLINGTON, MASS., HAS BUILT A COMPUTER/CRT SYSTEM THAT PERMITS THE DESIGN ENGINEER THE OPTION OF WORKING WITH GRAPHICS ON THE FACE OF THE OSCILLOSCOPE OR ON PAPER WITH A MOVABLE KEYBOARD WHOSE KEYS CONTROL SHORTHAND ENTRY OF SYMBOLS AND FUNCTIONS TO COMPUTER. EITHER THE CRT KEYBOARD OR THE ABBREVIATED MOVABLE KEYBOARD MAY BE USED TO CONTROL THE DRAWING BOARD PLOTTER. THE TWO PARTS OF THE SYSTEM CAN BE USED SEPARATELY OR TOGETHER. CUSTOMERS MAY PROVIDE THEIR OWN COMPUTER (OR MINICOPUTER WITH DISK AUXILIARY) OR PURCHASE TIME-SHARING SERVICE WITH A TELEPHONE COUPLING. THE MOST LIKELY USERS ARE DESIGNERS OF INTEGRATED CIRCUITS AND MASKS AND DESIGNERS OF COMPLEX PRINTER CIRCUIT BOARDS. ELECTRONICS PACKAGING DESIGNERS AND MACHINE DESIGNERS MAY ALSO FIND THE SYSTEM USEFUL. A SCHEMATIC DRAWING OF THE SYSTEM, ALONG WITH A DESCRIPTION OF OPERATING PRINCIPLES AND LIMITATIONS, IS GIVEN.
