UNIQUE SUBMARINE ASSEMBLY TECHNIQUES USED FOR LAYING GIANT MARSEILLES HARBOUR TUNNEL

THE DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION OF THE MARSEILLES HARBOUR TUNNEL, THE THREE MAIN CONSTITUENTS OF WHICH ARE TWO SUBMARINE TUBES, TWO ACCESS-GRADIENTS, AND LINK-ROADS TO THE CITY NETWORK ARE DISCUSSED. THE PREFABRICATED TUNNEL- SECTIONS ARE DESCRIBED IN DETAIL AND DIAGRAMS ARE USED TO ILLUSTRATE THE LAYING PROCEDURES ADOPTED.
