CALIBRATION EQUIPMENT FOR THE BV 11:2 LIGHT FRICTION MEASURING VEHICLE

COMMISSIONED BY THE NATIONAL SWEDISH CIVIL AVIATION ADMINISTRATION, A CALIBRATION EQUIPMENT OF THE CONTROL OF THE BV 11:2 FRICTION MEASURING VEHICLE WAS DESIGNED AND MANUFACTURED BY THE VTI. THE EQUIPMENT CONSISTS OF THE FOLLOWING ELEMENTS: A BRACKET TO BE FIXED TO THE SOUNDING TUBE OF THE FRICTION MEASURING VEHICLE, A SCREW WITH CRANK AND BEARING, A FORKED NUT, A BOFORS KRG-4 200 KP POWER TRANSMITTER WITH BALL JOINTS, A ROLLER CHAIN WITH ADAPTER, A CALIBRATION LEVER, A CABLE WITH TROLLEY HEAD, AND A BOFORS BKI-1 TRANSMITTER INDICATOR. DURING CALIBRATION, THE CALIBRATION LEVER REPLACES THE MEASURING WHEEL, AND CONSEQUENTLY THE RAIDUS OF THE LEVER IS EQUAL TO THE ROLLING RADIUS OF THE MEASURING WHEEL AT A SPEED OF 60 KM/H. BY MEANS OF THE CALIBRATION EQUIPMENT POWER CAN BE TRANSMITTED TO THE MEASURING WHEEL HUB. THE MAGNITUDE OF THE POWER IS INDICATED BY THE TRANSMITTER INDICATOR. /TRRL/
