AVERAGE VALUE PRODUCING INTEGRATION INSTRUMENT FOR DIRECT CONNECTION TO THE BV 11:2 FRICTION MEASURING VEHICLE

THIS PROTOTYPE EQUIPMENT TO BE USED WITH THE BV 11:2 LIGHT MEASURING VEHICLE WAS DESIGNED FOR THE NATIONAL SWEDISH CIVIL AVIATION ADMINISTRATION. THE APPARATUS IS INTENDED FOR MEASURING THE RELATIVE FRICTION OF RUNWAYS AS A COMPLEMENT TO THE ORDINARY MEASURING SYSTEM OF THE FRICTION MEASURING VEHICLE. THE INSTRUMENT IS PROGRAMMED TO PUNCH THREE FRICTION MEAN VALUES ON A SEPARATE PAPER TAPE OVER TEN DIFFERENT LENGTHS OF RUNWAYS: 900, 1200, 1500, 1800, 2100, 2400, 2700, 3000, 3300, AND 3600 M. THE NUMBER OF THE RUNWAYS CAN BE PUNCHED ON THE PAPER TAPE. THE PROGRAMME WHICH IS STARTED BY THE CAR DRIVER BY MEANS OF A SWITCH GIVES THREE MEAN VALUES. THE RESULTS ARE PUNCHED TOGETHER WITH THE NUMBER OF THE RUNWAY. THE MEASUREMENTS ARE ENTIRELY AUTOMATIC. /TRRL/
