MEASUREMENT OF MOISTURE IN SITU BY DIELECTRIC METHODS: APPLICATION TO CONCRETE /IN FRENCH/

THE POSSIBILITIES OF AN IN SITU MEASUREMENT OF THE MATERIAL MOISTURE BY A DIELECTRIC METHOD USING PROBES SUNK INTO THIS MATERIAL OR PLACED IN DIRECT CONTACT WITH IT ARE EXAMINED. THE MEASUREMENTS ARE AFFECTED BY A MEASUREMENT BRIDGE WHICH SUPPLIES THE TWO COMPONENTS OF THE ADMITTANCE, AT A FREQUENCY OF 50 MHZ. THE DIELECTRIC PROPERTIES OF MOIST POROUS COHERENT MATERIALS AT RADIO-ELECTRIC FREQUENCIES ARE REVIEWED. THE PROBES USED FOR CONCRETE, THE CABLES AND THE MEASURING EQUIPMENT ARE DESCRIBED. EXAMPLES OF APPLICATION ARE GIVEN CONCERNING THE DRYING OF A CONCRETE TEST PIECE, AND THE MEASUREMENTS OF WATER CONTENT AT VARIABLE TEMPERATURE, AND THE EVOLUTION OF A MORE OR LESS CONFINED CONCRETE AFTER IT HAS SET. /AUTHOR/
