16. ICTCT Workshop: Bessere Verkehrssicherheit durch die Verbindung von Forschung mit Sicherheitspolitik und Management / 16. Ordinary Workshop of ICTCT - International Co-operation on theories and concepts in traffic safety

Ende Oktober 2003 fand der 16. Ordentliche Workshop der ICTCT (International Co-operation on Theories and Concepts in Traffic safety) in Soesterberg (Niederlande) statt. Schwerpunkt des Tagungsprogramm war das sich aus der Beziehung zwischen Forschung, Verkehrssicherheitspolitik und Sicherheitsmanagement ergebende Potenzial zur Verbesserung der Verkehrssicherheit. Ebenfalls einbezogen waren Aspekte der neuen Technologien. Der Workshop bot Entscheidungstraegern, Praktikern und Forschern ein multidisziplinaeres Forum, um Beispiele theoretischer sowie anwendungsbezogener Modelle fuer Vorgehensweisen des Sicherheitsmanagements zu diskutieren. Diagnose und Identifikation von Sicherheitsproblemen, sowie die Wahl, Umsetzung und Auswertung von Massnahmen wurden behandelt. Die Beitraege aus 16 verschiedenen Laendern thematisierten das Sicherheitsmanagement, Unfallaspekte und die Sicherheitsauswirkungen neuer Technologien, sowie allgemeine Fragestellungen der Verkehrssicherheit. ABSTRACT IN ENGLISH: Towards the end of October 2003 the 16. Ordinary Workshop of ICTCT-International Co-Operation an Theories and Concepts in Traffic safety - took place in Soesterberg, the Netherlands. The starting-point for the development of the Workshop program was the assumption that improving the relationship between research and traffic-safety policy and management would have a great potential for the improvement of traffic safety. Four invited speakers dealt with the relevance of this approach for different traffic-policy aspects, including issues related to new technologies. After that, 25 speakers presented results of scientific discussions and studies concerning the topic areas safety management, accident analyses, safety aspects of new technologies, and dealing with interview, training and benchmarking methods that all could be appropriate for supporting decision makers and managers in the area of traffic safety in doing their work.
