VIBROACTIVATED CONCRETE

RESEARCH DATA FROM THE SOVIET UNION ON THE IMPROVEMT OF CONCRETE PROPERTIES BY HIGH FREQUENCY VIBRATION, CALLED "VIBROACTIVATED" HAS BEEN PUBLISHED. TESTS WERE MADE ON VIBROACTIVATED CEMENT PASTES, SAND-CEMENT, AND CONCRETE. IT IS REPORTED THAT VIBROACTIVATION INCREASES THE HYDRATION OF CEMENT AND THEREBY PRODUCES CONCRETE OF INCREASED STRENGTH WITH LOWER CEMENT CONTENT. RESULTS INDICATE THAT VIBROACTIVATION IMPROVES CONCRETE WORKABILITY, HENCE PERMITTING LOWER WATER CONTENT. /AUTHOR/
