DURABILITY STUDIES OF EXPOSED AGGREGATE PANELS

THE EFFECT OF AIR ENTRAINMENT UPON THE DURABILITY OF EXPOSED AGGREGATE PANELS WAS INVESTIGATED. VARIABLES STUDIED INCLUDED 3 WHITE QUARTZ AGGREGATES, TYPE OF CEMENT, AIR CONTENT, AND SURFACE TREATMENT WITH A WATER SOLUBLE SILICONE. ALSO, FREEZING AND THAWING RESISTANCE WAS STUDIED BY 2 TEST METHODS. ADDITIONAL STUDIES CONCERNED THE POTENTIAL ALKALI REACTIVITY OF THE VARIOUS CEMENT-AGGREGATE COMBINATIONS AND THE COMPRESSIVE AND FLEXURAL STRENGTH OF THE CONCRETES. /PCA/
