AN ANALYSIS OF DYNAMIC DISPLACEMENTS MEASURED WITHIN PAVEMENT STRUCTURES

A MATHEMATICAL MODEL WAS DEVELOPED FOR REPRESENTING THE MEASURED DISPLACEMENT VECTOR FIELDS IN THIRTY TEST SECTIONS AT THE RESEARCH ANNEX AT TEXAS A&M UNIVERSITY. WHILE THE MODEL PREDICTED THE DISPLACEMENTS FAIRLY WELL IN EACH TEST SECTION, IT WAS OBVIOUS THAT IMPROVEMENTS WERE REQUIRED IN THE MODEL BEFORE ATTEMPTING ITS USE IN THE DESIGN OF FLEXIBLE PAVEMENTS. /FHWA/
