THE INFLUENCE OF TIRE PRESSURE AND TIRE STRUCTURE AND THE EFFECT OF WHEEL POSITION ON TWIN-TIRED AND TANDEM VEHICLES ON THE STRESS APPLIED TO FLEXIBLE PAVEMENTS WAS EXAMINED WITH A VIEW TO DERIVING RECOMMENDATIONS FOR TIRE CONSTRUCTION AND AXLE DESIGNS.
