POTENTIAL COMPOUND COMPOSITIONS OF PORTLAND CEMENTS

THIS PAPER PRESENTS METHODS FOR CALCULATING THE POTENTIAL COMPOUND COMPOSITIONS OF PORTLAND CEMENT CLINKERS AND CEMENTS IN TERMS OF ALKALI SULFATES, ALKALI PHOSPHATES, TRICALCIUM SODIUM OXIDE ALUMINATE, TRICALCIUM FERROUS OXIDE ALUMINATE, CALCIUM ALUMINOFERRITE OR A SOLID SOLUTION OF IT WITH DICALCIUM FERRITE, ALITE, BELITE, MAGNESIUM OXIDE, AND CALCIUM SULFATE. THE SULFATE RESISTANCE OF TWENTY-ONE CEMENTS ARE COMPARED WITH THE COMPOSITIONS AS CALCULATED WITH THOSE DETERMINED BY A METHOD USING A COMBINATION OF CHEMICAL AND X-RAY DIFFRACTION DATA. /AUTHOR/
