SOME EXPERIMENTS CONCERNING THE COMPACTION OF CEMENT PASTE, MORTAR AND CONCRETE BY VIBRATION AT DIFFERENT FREQUENCIES

IN SPITE OF THE EXTENSIVE APPLICATION OF VIBRATORY COMPACTION, KNOWLEDGE OF THE ACTION OF VIBRATION ON FRESH CONCRETE IS STILL INCOMPLETE. TESTS CARRIED OUT TO DETERMINE WHICH CHARACTERISTIC OF VIBRATION HAS THE MOST BENEFICIAL EFFECT ON COMPACTION ARE DESCRIBED. IT WAS FOUND THAT, AT A CONSTANT POWER INPUT, THE FREQUENCY HAS A REMARKABLE EFFECT ON THE STRENGTH OF CEMENT PASTE AND MORTAR. SOME EXPERIMENTS ARE DESCRIBED ON THE COMPACTION OF MORTAR BY A COMPOUND VIBRATION. /AUTHOR/
