ULTRASONIC TEST METHODS FOR THE QUALITY CONTROL OF CONCRETE /IN RUSSIAN/

RESULTS ARE PRESENTED OF TESTS IN WHICH APPARATUS FOR MEASURING THE VELOCITY OF ULTRASONIC WAVE PROPAGATION WERE USED. THESE APPARATUS HAVE BEEN MASS-PRODUCED TO CONTROL THE QUALITY OF PRECAST CONCRETE MEMBERS IN THE FACTORY. TESTS WERE CARRIED OUT ON 24-M LONG PILES AND 14-M LONG BRIDGE GIRDERS. AN ATTEMPT WAS MADE TO CORRELATE THE MECHANICAL STRENGTH OF CONCRETE WITH THE VELOCITY OF ULTRASONIC WAVE PROPAGATION. THE DAMPING OF SIGNALS IN CONCRETE WAS ALSO STUDIED TOGETHER WITH THE NATURE OF THE ULTRASONIC PULSE REVERBERATIONS IN ONE CONCRETE SECTION. /LCPC/RRL/
