DETERMINATION OF THE CAUSES OF THE DETERIORATION OF A CONCRETE SEWER LINING WITH A VIEW TO SELECTING THE MOST SATISFACTORY CEMENT FOR REPAIR /IN FRENCH/

AN ATTEMPT TO DETERMINE THE CAUSES OF THE DETERIORATION OF A SEWER LINING MADE WITH LIMESTONE AGGREGATES AND A BINDER OF CATEGORY 250 IS DESCRIBED. THE FIRST PART OF THE INVESTIGATION DESCRIBES VARIOUS TESTS CARRIED OUT ON SAMPLES OF HEALTHY AND DETERIORATED CONCRETE SUBJECTED TO THE ACTION OF SEEPAGE AND SURFACE WATER WHICH SHOWED THE AGGRESSIVENESS OF THE NATURAL WATER AND THE HIGH CONTENT OF HYDROGEN SULPHIDE IN THE ATMOSPHERE. THE SECOND PART DEALS WITH THE DETERMINATION OF THE MOST SATISFACTORY BINDER FOR REPAIR. ONLY CEMENTS WITH A REPUTATION FOR SATISFACTORY BEHAVIOR IN AGGRESSIVE MEDIA WERE CONSIDERED. POROUS MORTAR SAMPLES WERE PREPARED WITH VARIOUS CEMENTS, PLACED IN THE AGGRESSIVE MEDIUM AND COMPARED WITH TEST SAMPLES IN ORDER TO EVALUATE THE EVOLUTION OF THEIR MECHANICAL CHARACTERISTICS AND THE S03/S102 RELATION. /LCPC(A)/RRL/
