LANDSCAPE PLANTING SPECIES SURVIVAL

SURVIVAL AND VIGOROUS GROWTH OF PLANT MATERIALS ON PLANTING PROJECTS IS THE RESULT OF A COMBINATION OF FACTORS, BUT THE MOST IMPORTANT FACTOR IS DIRECTLY RELATED TO THE TIMING AND AMOUNT OF WATER APPLIED DURING AND FOLLOWING THE PLANTING OPERATION. PRINCIPAL AREAS OF DIFFICULTY ARE IMPROPER SELECTION OF PLANT MATERIAL FOR THE SPECIFIC SITE, USE OF AN IMPROPER SITE OR LOCATION, PLANTS SO PLACED THAT IT IS DIFFICULT TO PROVIDE PROPER MAINTENANCE, AND A LACK OF CONSCIOUS CONCERN FOR THE "WELL BEING" OF THE LANDSCAPE MATERIALS. /AUTHOR/
