THE INFLUENCE OF INHERENT MOISTURE ON THE COMPRESSIVE STRENGTH OF CONCRETE /IN GERMAN/

DURING 1966 AND 1967 TESTS WERE CARRIED OUT ON 15 CONCRETES VARYING IN COMPOSITION TO DETERMINE THEIR COMPRESSIVE STRENGTHS, AND THUS TO EXAMINE THE INFLUENCE OF CONCRETE MOISTURE ON COMPRESSIVE STRENGTH. AFTER AT LEAST 152 DAYS STORAGE IN WATER THE CONCRETES WERE STORED IN DRY CONDITIONS FOR 4-90 DAYS BEFORE THE TESTS WERE CARRIED OUT. IN ALL CASES THE COMPRESSIVE STRENGTH INCREASED AS THE CONCRETE DRIED OUT. /RRL/
