DIRECT ADJUSTMENT OF CEMENT CONCRETE MIXES FROM FIELD STRENGTH DATA

ENGINEERS RECEIVING CEMENT SUPPLY FROM DIFFERENT SOURCES EXPERIENCE SERIOUS DIFFICULTIES IN MAINTAINING THE DESIGN STRENGTH OF CONCRETE MIXES. THE DEVELOPMENT OF A METHOD IS REPORTED FOR DIRECT ADJUSTMENT OF CEMENT CONCRETE MIXES BY INCREASING OR DECREASING THE WATER-CEMENT AND AGGREGATE-CEMENT RATIOS TO COUNTERACT VARIATION IN COMPRESSIVE STRENGTH DUE TO CHANGE IN THE CEMENT QUALITY AND OTHER CAUSES INCLUDING HUMAN (CONTROL) AND CLIMATE. THE METHOD IS BASED ON DETAILED LABORATORY INVESTIGATION ON CONCRETE MIXES, USING CEMENTS FROM 12 DIFFERENT FACTORIES. /RRL/ FROM 12 DIFFERENT FACTORIES. /RRL/
