MEASUREMENT OF INTERNAL STRAINS IN CONCRETE

IN ORDER TO MEASURE INTERNAL DEFORMATIONS CAUSED BY UNIAXIAL COMPRESSIVE STRESSES, A STRAIN GAGE WITH AN ELECTRICAL ELEMENT WAS INSERTED INTO A SAMPLE AS THE CONCRETE WAS BEING CAST. THE DESIGN AND POSITIONING OF THE GAGE ARE DESCRIBED IN DETAIL. A COMPARATIVE STUDY OF INTERNAL AND SURFACE DEFORMATIONS SHOWED THE FORMER TO BE GREATER. /LCPC(A)/RRL/
