CONTRIBUTION TO THE STUDY OF THERMAL METHODS FOR ACCELERATING THE HARDENING OF CONCRETE - HEATED MOULD TREATMENT /IN FRENCH/

THE THERMAL TREATMENT OF CONCRETE IN HEATED MOULDS, COMMONLY USED IN THE MANUFACTURE OF PRECAST CONCRETE, IS DISCUSSED. DEATILS ARE GIVEN OF A SERIES OF TESTS CARRIED OUT AT DIFFERENT TEMPERATURES ON CONCRETE CONTAINING CHIPPINGS AND EXPANDED CLAY. TEST RESULTS SHOW THAT EXTREME HEAT CAN RESULT IN LONG TERM LOSS OF STRENGTH BUT HAS A FAVORABLE EFFECT ON YOUNG CONCRETE. THE HARMFUL INFLUENCE OF THERMAL TREATMENT ON AREAS SUCH AS THIN SECTIONS OR EDGES IS STUDIED. AN ATTEMPT IS MADE TO SELECT TREATMENT TEMPERATURES AS A FUNCTION OF THE MATURITY OF CONCRETE. /LCPC/A/RRL/
