DETERMINATION OF THE MOISTURE CONTENT OF CEMENT PASTE (IN RUSSIAN)

A METHOD IS DESCRIBED OF DETERMINING THE WATER/CEMENT RATIO OF CONCRETE PASTE; THIS METHOD IS BASED ON THE VARIATION IN SETTING TIME FOR THE CEMENT PASTE AS A FUNCTION OF ITS WATER-CONTENT. WATER CONTENT IN CEMENT PASTE IS 10 TO 36 PER CENT LOWER THAN THE VALUE ADOPTED FOR MIXING. REDUCTION IN THE WATER/CEMENT RATIO DEPENDS ON THE QUALITY AND PROPORTIONING OF THE CONCRETE INGREDIENTS, METHOD OF PREPARATION, CURING CONDITIONS, AND TIME AT WHICH MIXING BEGINS. /LCPC/RRL/
