HYDRAULICS OF CULVERT DESIGN INCLUDING CONSTANT ENERGY CONCEPT

AN INDICATION IS GIVEN OF SOME OF THE COMPLEXITIES WHICH HAVE MADE THE HYDRAULICS OF CULVERT DESIGN THE SUBJECT OF MUCH RESEARCH. HOWEVER, THERE IS ALSO PRESENTED A METHOD OF DESIGN BASED ON A SERIES OF GRAPHS AND TABLES WHICH SIMPLFIES THE DESIGN OF CULVERTS, BUT STILL GIVES MORE ACCURATE RESULTS WITH JUST A LITTLE MORE WORK THAN SOME OTHER METHODS BEING USED AT PRESENT. THE PAPER IS DIVIDED INTO TWO PARTS;-(A) THE HYDRAULICS OF THE DESIGN OF CONVENTIONAL CULVERTS, (B) THE HYDRAULICS OF A CULVERT WITH NO AFFLUX BASED ON A CONSTANT ENERGY CONCEPT. (A)
