THE DESIGN OF FLY-ASH CONCRETES

A METHOD IS DESCRIBED FOR USE IN THE DESIGN OF CONCRETE MIXES TO GIVE A REQUIRED EARLY STRENGTH AND DEGREE OF WORKABILITY WHEN INCORPORATING FLY-ASH. THE USEFULNESS OF THE METHOD IS SHOWN BY COMPARISON WITH A LARGE NUMBER OF TESTS ON FLY-ASH CEMENT CONCRETES AND WITH ANALYSES OF PREVIOUSLY PUBLISHED PAPERS FROM EXTERNAL SOURCES. IT IS SHOWN THAT THERE IS NO NEED TO ACCEPT A LOSS OF EARLY STRENGTH WHEN USING FLY-ASH IN CONCRETE. /RRL/A/
