CONDUCTION CALORIMETER STUDIES OF THE HEAT OF HYDRATION OF A PORTLAND CEMENT

AN INVESTIGATION WAS MADE INTO THE EFFECT OF TEMPERATURE AND WATER-CEMENT RATIO ON THE HEAT OF HYDRATION OF NORMAL PORTLAND CEMENT. ALSO INVESTIGATED WAS WHETHER THE HEAT OF HYDRATION DEVELOPED AT DIFFERENT TEMPERATURES COULD BE DESCRIBED BY A TIME-TEMPERATURE FUNCTION. A SPECIALLY CONSTRUCTED CONDUCTION CALORIMETER USED IN THE STUDY HAS BEEN DESCRIBED IN DETAIL. /RRL/
