ACCELERATED 28-DAY TEST FOR CONCRETE

THE DEVELOPMENT OF AN ACCELERATED STRENGTH TEST FOR HARDENED CONCRETE WAS EXAMINED IN ORDER TO BE ABLE TO PREDICT THE POTENTIAL 28-DAY COMPRESSIVE STRENGTH OF CONCRETE IN ABOUT 24-28 HOURS. EXISTING TEST METHODS ARE DESCRIBED AND THIS IS FOLLOWED BY REFERENCES TO EQUIPMENT, AGGREGATES, CEMENTS, ADMIXTURES, DELAY BETWEEN BOILING AND TESTING, WATER TEMPERATURE, FIELD EXPERIMENTAL PROGRAMM, MOLDING AND CURING. COMPRESSIVE STRENGTH TEST RESULTS ARE GRAPHICALLY REPRESENTED AND THE RESULTS OF THIS INVESTIGATION ARE COMPARED WITH THOSE OBTAINED BY OTHER INVESTIGATORS. /RRL/
