LED-Lichttechnik erschliesst weitere Einsatzfelder - speziell in der Verkehrsinformationstechnik / LED technology advances open new and extensive fields for application - especially in traffic-information technology

Die Verkehrsbetriebe Karlsruhe (VBK) sowie ihre Schwestergesellschaft Albtal-Verkehrs-Gesellschaft (AVG) fuehren zur Zeit ein umfangreiches rechnergestuetztes Betriebs-Leitsystem (RBL) ein. Dieses Leitsystem verbessert in vielen Bereichen der Nahverkehrsstrecken die Betriebsfuehrung, Kundeninformation und Disposition. Die Speisung eines Zentralrechners mit den betriebsrelevanten Daten sowie deren Auswertung ermoeglicht es, ueber ein LED-Display - Zugzielanzeiger (ZZA) genannt - dem Fahrgast Informationen ueber den aktuellen Fahrzeugstandort im Netz sowie die aktuelle Fahrplanlage zu geben. Hinterleuchtete statische Displays an tragenden Konstruktionen uebermitteln den Kunden diese Informationen. Eine Grundbeleuchtung mittels weisser LEDs sorgt fuer zusaetzliche Sicherheit. (A) ABSTRACT IN ENGLISH: The municipal public-transport authorities of the city of Karlsruhe (VBK), as well as one of its subsidiaries - the company Albtal-Verkehrs-Gesellschaft (AVG) - are currently implementing an extensive computer-supported operating system. This control system enhances operations, customer-information services, disposition, planning, and scheduling in many areas of the mass rapid transit lines. Data relevant to systems operation are fed into the central computer and are processed there. These data then go onto LED displays and provide transit patrons with information on the current location of public-transport vehicles, and on the current status of the timetable. Backlit static displays on supported screens provide this information, with general lighting of the rooms by white LEDs providing additional security. (A)
