THE DENSITY MEASUREMENT OF CONCRETE ROAD SURFACINGS BY MEANS OF RADIOACTIVE ISOTOPES

IN RECENT YEARS THE RANGE OF APPLICATION OF METHODS FOR THE NON-DESTRUCTIVE TESTING OF CONCRETE HAVE BEEN GREATLY EXTENDED. THE AUTHOR DEALS IN HIS CONTRIBUTION WITH THE METHOD OF DENSITY MEASUREMENT BY MEANS OF RADIO-ACTIVE ISOTOPES AND, ON THE BASIS OF TEST RESULTS, SHOWS THAT THE CRUDE DENSITY OF FRESH AND HARDENED CONCRETE CAN BE DETERMINED AS FROM THE SURFACE WITH AN ACCURACY OF 2% WITHOUT THE DESTRUCTION OF THE TEST SPECIMEN. /FG/RRL/
