HEAT OF HYDRATION OF PORTLAND CEMENT AND OF MIXTURES OF PORTLAND CEMENT AND MILLED GRANULATED BLASTFURNACE SLAG WITH SPECIAL REFERENCE TO THE HEAT DEVELOPMENT IN MORTARS UNDER UNADIABATIC CONDITIONS

THE HEAT DEVELOPED, UNDER ADIABATIC AND ISOTHERMAL CONDITIONS, IN MORTARS MADE FROM MIXTURES OF PORTLAND CEMENT AND MILLED GLASSY BLASTFURNACE SLAG HAS BEEN STUDIED. THE HEAT OF HYDRATION OF THE CEMENTS WAS CALCULATED FROM DATA OBTAINED FROM MORTARS AND COMPARED WITH VALUES OBTAINED BY MEANS OF THE HEAT OF SOLUTION METHOD. THE INFLUENCE OF THE ADDITION OF VARIOUS PROPORTIONS OF MILLED GLASSY BLASTFURNACE SLAG TO PORTLAND CEMENT AND OF CURING CONDITIONS ON THE HEAT OF HYDRATION HAS BEEN ESTABLISHED. /RRL/A/
