CHIPPING RETENTION ON HOT ROLLED ASPHALT CARPETS WITH SPECIAL REFERENCE TO PITCH BITUMEN BINDERS

THE EFFECTS OF VARYING THE MIXING AND ROLLING TEMPERATURE ON THE PROPERTIES OF HOT ROLLED ASPHALTS HAVE BEEN INVESTIGATED. THE ADHESIVE PROPERTIES OF CHIPPINGS COATED AT DIFFERENT TEMPERATURES HAVE BEEN COMPARED AND THE INFLUENCE OF GRADING AND ORIGIN ON THEIR RATE OF SPREAD DISCUSSED.
