FILLER: CONCEPTOS, ENSAYOS Y NORMATIVA
En este articulo se revisan las funciones del filler en las mezclas bituminosas, en su doble papel de arido y constituyente de mastico. Se analizan los medios de que se dispone actualmente para su caracterizacion, divididos estos entre ensayos para la caracterizacion directa del material, ensayos sobre el mastico y ensayos sobre la mezcla bituminosa. Tambien se exponen los criterios para analizar los filleres y la normativa existente en Espana y en Europa senalando las necesidades de investigacion. (A). Resumen en ingles: The purpose of this article is to review the dual role of filler on asphalt mixes, as a part of the mineral aggregate and as a constituent of the fines-asphalt matrix. In the article the tools available today to characterize filler are analyzed, grouping them as tests on the filler itself , on the asphalt mortar or on the mix. Recommended guidelines to ensure a successful use of filler are included. Some comments on the Spanish and European specifications are given pointing out the needs of research in this field. (A).
