DEDUCTION CONDITIONS: CONTRACT CONDITIONS CONCERNING CONTROL OF ASPHALT PAVEMENTS ON STATE HIGHWAYS (II) /IN DUTCH/

PART II DISCUSSES THE EFFECT OF APPLYING DEDUCTION-CONDITIONS TO TEN DIFFERENT CONTRACTS. THE DEDUCTIONS AND DEVIATIONS FROM SPECIFICATION ARE CALCULATED ACCORDING TO THE TENTATIVE CONDITIONS OF 1966 AS WELL AS TO THE FINAL CONDITIONS OF 1968 AND THE DIFFERENCES ARE ELUCIDATED. FROM THE TEST RESULTS THE STANDARD DEVIATION, THE 95% CONFIDENCE INTERVAL FOR THE POSITION OF THE TRUE MEAN, AND THE PROBABILITY PERCENTAGE OF OVERSTEPPING THE DEDUCTION LIMITS ARE CALCULATED FOR EACH PROPERTY TESTED. THE RELATION BETWEEN THE DISTRIBUTION CURVES AND THESE STATISTICAL QUANTITIES IS DEMONSTRATED. REGRESSION LINES FOR THE CORRELATION OF DEDUCTIONS AND OVERSTEPPING PERCENTAGES ARE SHOWN. SOME EXAMPLES ARE DISCUSSED TO SHOW THE CONNECTION BETWEEN THE DEDUCTION CONDITIONS AND QUALITY SUPERVISION. /SWOV/
