USE OF CLINKER OF THE GAIZE TYPE IN ASPHALTIC CONCRETE /IN RUSSIAN/

ARTIFICIAL AGGREGATES, OBTAINED BY BURNING LOW-QUALITY ROCK WHICH CANNOT BE USED IN ITS NATURAL STATE, ARE CONSIDERED. BY BURNING THE ROCK AT A TEMPERATURE OF 1260 TO 1300 DEGREES C., AN AGGREGATE IS OBTAINED WHICH HAS A COMPRESSIVE STRENGTH BETWEEN 830 AND 1000 KG/SQ. CM., AND OTHER FAVORABLE CHARACTERISTICS. COATING AND APPLICATION TESTS HAVE SHOWN THAT BITUMINOUS MATERIALS CONTAINING THIS TYPE OF AGGREGATE REMAIN STABLE UNDER VARIOUS TEMPERATURES AND IN THE PRESENCE OF WATER, ARE RESISTANT TO WEAR AND CREEP, AND SUITABLE FOR HEAVILY TRAFFICKED ROADS. /LCPC/RRL/
